- upon arrival: tasty cider and regal mead
- stone baked bread from a rural bakery served with onion apple lard
- hearty cooked soup served in a bowl for slurping
- grilled poultry and pork, "damsel" bread dumplings served with yellow carrots and cabbage, betony roots served with a spicy mustard sauce and twisted betony root tips

Before dinner:
Shortly after your arrival, we will set up an unlimited buffet in our spacious and seasonally decorated hotel lobby for you and your guests including winter punch, mulled wine, Christmas cookies and warm chestnuts right out of the oven. Or we'll make you fresh waffles with delicious ice cream and fresh fruit in our hotel lobby! The wonderful smell of fresh waffles permeates the hotel and even watching them being made is a delight for the palate and senses. Would you care for a nice hot cup of coffee or tea? Whatever you choose, know that you'll be making the right choice.
Shortly before midnight:
If you're in the mood to try an oven fresh baked apple with a sweet marzipan filling just before the stroke of midnight, the "confectioners" among the St. Wolfgang pastry chefs turn nearly everything imaginable into a delicious reality!
A Christmas market at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Passau:
How much time do you have exactly? If your schedule permits, do consider visiting the nearest Christmas market located in the beautiful three river city of Passau. It's not very far from Hotel St. Wolfgang - about a 25 minute drive. Both magical and dreamy, Passau is a city with quite a bit of Lower Bavarian warmth and charm. The Christmas market at the cathedral is open daily from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm.
St. Nicholas, Santa's little helper, Krampus & the Christmas angel:
So much for our good intentions - in the end, we realised that good old Santa Claus just isn't the same without his sidekicks, "Krampus" and "Santa's little helper" (quite sinister fellows with a switch and shackle), and that praise and blame as well as a bag full of gifts for a real Christmas celebration are simply part and parcel of the holiday. For this reason, we'd like to ask for a list of mischievous behaviour and laudable incidents as well as poems or stories from you to include in our golden book. For anyone interested in seeing St. Nicolas, Santa's little helper, Krampus or a Christmas angel in the flesh (courtesy of St. Wolfgang staff), we charge a fee of € 50 per character.
Carriage ride/curling:
The feeling of being snuggled up in many soft blankets and pillows while rocking gently through the winter forest can't sufficiently be described in words. Instead, you really ought to experience it yourself as the passenger of a lovely two horse carriage. And if you still haven't found exactly what it is you've been looking for, why not try your hand at an athletic competition in curling?
