Dr Heinz-Jürgen Eichhorn, MD
Dr Eichhorn is the co-founder of the Orthopaedic Surgical Practice Group ("Orthopädisch-chirurgischen Gemeinschaftspraxis" or OGP). From the very beginning, he pursued the vision of creating centres of excellence involving the collaboration of highly specialised orthopaedic surgeons. He was instrumental in recruiting qualified specialists from various universities in Germany for the sporthopaedicum or joint and vertebrae treatment centre. As a former athlete himself (first handball Bundesliga), Dr Eichhorn brings his passion to the Sports Medicine field. He is also recognised nationally and internationally as a knee specialist who has successfully treated many famous athletes. A majority of the instruments he uses in surgery are his own inventions (double bundle navigation).
Dr Eichhorn was again added to FOCUS magazine's list of knee doctors in 2010. He is one of 89 specially recommended knee specialists in Germany.
In 2012, Dr Eichhorn was again included on FOCUS' list of doctors and is considered to be one of Germany's top orthopaedic physicians.
